This is one of the symbols of Caceres. It is a 25m high flanking tower, built to protect the wall and the city. It was built towards the 12th century, with machicolations and crowned by battlements, to which other elements were added, such as the small Renaissance balcony. It is connected to the wall by a small bridge the top of which - used by soldiers to keep watch - you can today cross over from here.
