The Avenida da Liberdade connects the Praça da República in the historic center to the Parque da Ponte traffic circle by the river Este in the city of Braga in northern Portugal. The avenue was built in the 19th century, following the route of the old royal road that connected Braga to Porto. Along the avenue, you can admire several buildings of architectural and historical interest, such as the Palácio do Raio, the Teatro Circo, the Hospital de São Marcos and the Igreja dos Congregados.
